Colorado time

So i am typing here from the lobby in our lovely Austrian hotel in Vail, Colorado! I am one lucky guy. On friday i didnt manage to take any photos on digital but took a few holga shots to finish my film. However took a few interesting shots in Heathrow airport yesterday and some during travels from Denver.

Traveling Home

After a couple of seriously dull lectures today i caught a train home, which ended up not being a quick catch but more like waiting in the station for 90 extra minutes. fun. Although i do find it interesting seeing how people react to certain events. I sat by my bags listening to 'death cab for cutie' and shot a few pictures of people around the station. Capturing natural people interests me immensely.

We are Birmingham

The 23rd was a good day for me, after 2 months of figuring out what i needed to purchase, how to present my prints, and most importantly chasing up deliveries, lost packages and cycling to depots, i have finally got my finished prints ready and in store of We are Birmingham arts shop! Went in and agreed a few terms and signed a contract. It has been a great experience so far so will hopefully teach me even more in the future! check them out here they are doing great things! Drowning Lessons

After my lectures today i played on MAX msp, which although hurts my eyes is a very powerful synthesizer software i am gradually getting my head round. I also decided to start doing more photoshop based projects as they are very fun. Tried this today, just a rough copy, might try something similar another time

Depot

I seem to spend my too much of my time picking up "sorry we missed you cards", googling where the depot is, and cycling to it. I think i know everyone in Birmingham now. However yesterday i had to find where the TNT one was. a fresh depot to my knowledge. Due to me going there and them telling me they don't have my package, i had to go there twice so i made sure to get some photos on the way. there was a fire in a fast food place..

also the package was my business cards so my prints should be in the shop this week!

Town

On Sunday, Brogan and i went into town, wandered around for a few hours like we normally do...

i tried to get her to stand up but she said it was too scary... cute

Architects

Went out to the bullring today, stopped by this abandoned building which i have always liked, trying to capture new angles on the famous shopping center. I captured multiple frames and patched them together, i like the quirky looking composition. The overall image for me represents the state of current Birmingham and its contrasts in architecture

Super Sexy

Had a productive day in the studio creating some synthesizers, the software has potential to make great things! walked brogan to work and went for a wander afterwards... this one i found quite amusing due to the most un-sexiest sign i have ever seen.

Synthesis intoxication

Yesterday, spent all day creating a synth for an assessment, being a typical student leaving it til the day before.. however i completed it and went out afterwards which was good fun. During my night out i realized (whilst currently slightly intoxicated), that i hadn't taken a single picture that day. thinking it would be good enough i took a picture of the bar with my phone...

...Clearly not impressive, however at least i managed something. Today i took a picture of my project to represent yesterday as i have spent too long looking at this software

Went out today though and got good pictures to make up for it,

Shadows

Trip to ideal mini ramp again yesterday, noticed the cool double shadows when a mate was in the middle. fish eye looks awesome too. spent most of today trying to make a synthesizer for an assessment on friday... square eyes

Gummy tongue

Yesterday i went to collect a package which was full of thin plastic bags, these are for my prints i am selling in "we are birmingham" art shop. So all today i was sticking my mounts together and putting them in their packaging, very pleased with the professional look! now all i need is to wait for my business cards to arrive and they are ready.

Was a pretty gloomy rainy evening in birmingham last night, captured this scene at a bus stop in the rain. pretty moody.

ended up going to the pub last night and coming back to play call of duty until 6... woke up at half 4 today. not feeling fresh

Grime

Today was a great, yet slightly surreal day for me, after my morning lectures i went down to ideal skateshop and skated their miniramp for about 4 hours! my legs are shattered. Half way through some guys came in and asked whether they could film me and my mate james skating for their music video. One dude stood rapping in the middle whilst we skated around him. very odd. got a few got photos. love the lighting in there.

Sunday involved me pretty much doing nothing all day with brogan, as she leaves for paris tuesday. only one photo taken that day from my phone, still something!

1 month

So its been exactly one month since my first post, and since then i have taken a photograph and uploaded it here eventually.. Its a good start to making the whole year! Today i went for a trip on my bike to perry barr, north of the centre to collect these...

Skate Crazy

Yesterday after my lectures i went to the local ideal mini ramp, its a great ramp and was empty when we got there! need to put some practice in over the next year... should get a few more pictures from there in the future

So on the 1st I got an email from the "photo extremist" who is an online photography expert i follow, he set up a competition to get people to play with photoshop and their keyboards, i created this which took a while to edit

Street

I am a few days behind... but i still have the photos! On Monday me and my mate Rob went out for to a little skate spot outside our uni. Was good, and apparently it will be a new train station in the future so better make the most of it!
